Cherokee Prayer Our Sacred Fire burns always, its flame bright and strong, lighting your trail as you approach our home on the internet. We welcome you with open arms, food to eat, water to quench your thirst, but most of all with love and peace in our hearts. Our world is in turmoil. There is war, hatred and suffering all over Mother Earth. Our Earth Mother is dying from our abuse. But there is hope. Together, united as one people, the Four Sacred Colors of man and woman must come together to work together to heal our Earth Mother before it is too late. We owe it to our children and the 7th generation to come. We are now that 7th generation. These are urgent times. But there is hope. We must pray for the healing of our Mother Earth. We have harmed her so greatly - the greed of men and women who think nothing of tearing up the land, ripping apart the minerals within, the harm we are doing to the animals and birds, our food source, our precious, precious water. Go to your Sacred place to pray, where ever it may be. Prayer is powerful and with people all over the world joining in prayer can make a difference! We can make change! The time is now - pray for our people, our land, our animals and plants, the winged ones, the ones that crawl and the ones that live in the mighty oceans and rivers and lakes and ponds all over the world. We must pray for peace and in our every day lives, do what we can, individually, to live together in peace. The people of the world have no more control over their lives, than what they are allowed to do by their leaders - or dictators, men and women in power, who do nothing to help the poor and hungry by providing nutritious food for all, health care, a decent place to call home, fuel to keep warm in the cold and so many things we need to do to make our world a better place for all of us. The World Wide Web has given those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to own our own computers the ability to connect with people from far away lands and this way, we can get to know one another on an individual basis as humans sharing life on the same planet. This is our chance to make peace with the world's people - and for them to do the same with us. We are all connected in the great web of life. We all bleed the same, cry the same tears and laugh and love. Together as a global family, we must all do our part to help to heal the harm that has been done to our Earth Mother and the harm we have been taught to do to each other. We must stop hating one another, simply because we are different. We must listen more to our hearts than to the propaganda we hear every day from corrupt mean-spirited politicians. Let's try to love one another, regardless of our backgrounds, our religious beliefs, whether we are poor or rich, or people of color. Let's set aside political differences and get to know one another first and foremost as friends, then we can open the door to cooperation and to living together in peace - it is up to us, the world's people to ensure that our elected officials and world leaders do as we want - stop the hate and the wars and realize that no one wins with the usage of these horrible weapons that exist. We can do it! Let's remember to pray for all our brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, friends, all our relations who are currently enlisted in their country's military. I believe that no one enjoys killing others, or to be killed. Yes, I realize, that there are some people who do enjoy hurting others, but they are the evil ones who walk amongst us and there are more of us than there are of them. Let's sit down and talk - and settle our differences without cluster bombs, nuclear weapons and all those things that destroy all life as we know it. Many blessings to you all.
