Tsi Lu Gi Welcome
My name is Svhyeyi Aga - Evening Rain
and I am Tsalagi - Cherokee.
The Cherokee are my people.
I am proud of all of who I am.
I am proud of my family and where I come from.
This is my life.
It has taken me a long time to get to this time of my life
and I have learned, I need no one's approval to be who I am,
who I have always been.
I am Cherokee.
The Cherokee have a saying, "one drop of blood, and you
are Cherokee. It doesn't matter whether I have a "card"
or not, what matters most of all, is that this is who I
am, who I have always been. It is what is in our blood,
our spirit and our hearts, what our Ancestors gave to us
that helps to create the person we become. We have a choice.
But I believe, we are "chosen" or led down a road, a
path, however you may want to refer to it, and once we stop
resisting, once we follow what we feel in our heart and
spirit, that is when we will find the right place to be.
Who we are.
I am also a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister,
a friend, a woman.
I am a grandmother.
I am 51 years old and my life has been one of many
experiences and lessons,
both good and bad and some truly wonderful and special.
I can say what I feel and no longer feel the need to seek
the approval or acceptance of others.
I try to live my life in a good way
and here I can share many parts of my life with others.
My writing comes from my heart and spirit.
It is a precious gift I believe, and so I try to gift it back,
to others, to life, to myself and hopefully,
to all who may read what I have written.
My hope is, that in some way, who I am,
what you see here, feel, and remember,
will in some small way touch you.
That is one of the most important things of all in life.
"Indian blood is like gold...
No matter how thinly it is spun
It still shines just as brightly."
Chief Carl Grey Owl Griggs
Northern Cherokee Nation
The words of Chief Grey Owl Griggs reminds us,
that it is not the "quanity" of our blood, but
the Indian blood within us, will never cease to
exist. It is what makes us, as native people,
strong, proud, determined and unique.
My Family has always been strong, proud and
determined. For each, perhaps a different
call may have been heard, but there are some
things we can never change.
So, I use the Cherokee Greeting here to
all of you, who visit this website.
Welcome!

Candle Across America Campaign
Please visit this beautiful site - a tribute to all our Veterans.
Please click on the candle.
Please remember our Veterans - not only in tributes........
but remember them every day and fight for their rights
to receive treatment and services they deserve
for the sacrifices they made for all of us.
Let's stop the Hate......World Peace and Prayer Day
is June 21st of every year.
Let us make every day of every year,
one with peace in the world for all people
and one of prayer, in gratitude for all we are given.
Honor each other, honor the earth, and peace will come.
The Cherokee believe in the White Road - of Life and
Peace. This I always strive for. Not always an easy
task, but we can do it - live in peace together and
work together to heal our earth.
This we must do not only for ourselves, but
for the generations to come.
The song you are listening to is Amazing Grace, sung in Cherokee.
Our website has been visited many times,
by people from all over the world. Thank you!
