Tsi Lu Gi ~ Welcome!
My name is Svhiyeyi Aga - which means Evening Rain in Cherokee. I was gifted this name by a wonderful Cherokee Elder, known as the Great White Owl, who has since passed on. He came to my rescue at a time in my life when I was being hounded by some difficult people on the internet. Back in 1999 and 2000, there were few, if any, internet laws to protect us from harassment and stalking. I don't really know why or what started this group into doing what they did and saying what they did about me back then - all untruths and many hurtful things. I was, by no means, their only target, it was just how it was back then and even today, there are people who are singled out for this type of response from strangers. I believe now, it was a lesson and a challenge given to me by Creator for learning. How would I respond to them? How would I handle this challenge? I admit, initially I did not handle it in the best way I could. I responded in anger and hurt and that is never a good way to deal with such challenges. It only adds fuel to fire this anger they have within them. The flames of their inner fire would strike out at people and it was dangerous and hurtful, but to respond to them at all, was not a good way to resolve it, that is what I learned. My Teacher, brother, friend and protector, the Great White Owl, told me it was up to me to accept his gift of my name, Evening Rain. I have another name - given to me in ceremony and one I later learned in my journey of reconnecting to my Cherokee blood, that I should not share or say in public or to strangers. It's my Spirit Name and the name in which I shall be recognized in the Spirit World when I cross over to Nightland. Great White Owl's gift of the name Evening Rain to me, was to protect me from these people, but he said it was also because of my writing. He told me, "Your writing is like a gentle rain that washes away hurt and sadness in your life and that of others." I accepted his gift with gratitude and honor, to think he cared that much about me as a friend and sister in spirit to protect me as a good warrior will always do. Great White Owl crossed over into the spirit world several years ago, after a courgeous battle with cancer. I was able to visit with him and his lovely wife before his passing. I wanted to see him and tell him personally of my gratitude to him for everything he had given to me - his teachings are a rare and precious gift that will remain with me for the rest of my life. I know that we will meet again. We will meet in the place of spirit, where there is no pain, only love and happiness and connecton to all our relations. We will learn more than we can imagine in the Spirit World and we will continue to give and work in the way Creator wants each of us to do. The Cherokee have a saying, "one drop of blood, and you are Cherokee. It doesn't matter whether I have a "card" or not, what matters most of all, is that this is who I am, who I have always been. It is what is in our blood, our spirit and our hearts, what our Ancestors gave to us that helps to create the person we become. We have a choice. But I believe, we are "chosen" or led down a road, a path, however you may want to refer to it, and once we stop resisting, once we follow what we feel in our heart and spirit, that is when we will find the right place to be. Who we are.
I am also a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister,

I try to live my life in a good way
My hope is, that in some way, who I am,
That is one of the most important things of all in life.
